What Is Metricool?

Metricool is a social media management tool that plans, publishes and measures posts across 11 networks, and adds Google, Meta and TikTok Ads reporting in the same dashboard.

Metricool sells software, not engagement. You connect accounts you already own, then use its planner, inbox, analytics, competitor tracking and reports to run them. Its homepage claims "over 4 million professionals" use it and shows logos from brands such as adidas, BMW and Spotify; those are company claims we could not verify.

The company behind it is named in its legal notice as Metricool Software, SL, registered in the Madrid Mercantile Registry with an office at Calle Téllez 12 in Madrid, and the notice says it is "governed by Spanish law". According to a 2023 founder interview, CEO Juan Pablo Tejela started Metricool in Madrid in April 2016. It has apps on the App Store and Google Play, and its homepage describes it as a "Google, Pinterest, Meta, LinkedIn and X partner".

This Metricool review describes plans and features from Metricool's own pages and public user reviews. BSTB is not affiliated with Metricool.

Metricool covers 11 social networks plus Google, Meta and TikTok Ads.

Metricool Features: Planner, Analytics, Inbox and AI

Metricool features cover a content planner with best times to post, analytics with competitor tracking, a shared inbox, an AI assistant, link-in-bio pages and automated reports. Which ones you get depends on the plan.

Metricool Analytics and Reports

Metricool analytics are its strongest feature, because the tool started as an analytics product and still keeps unlimited history on paid plans. You can track up to 100 competitor profiles, pull ad results from three ad platforms and send PDF or PPT reports automatically each month. White-label reports sit on the Custom plan, so agencies that need fully branded reports should check that tier.

Metricool Inbox and Approval System

The Metricool inbox gathers comments and messages from most connected networks into one feed, even on the free plan. The approval system, which lets a client or manager sign off posts before they go out, is only on Advanced and Custom.

Metricool AI Assistant and MCP

The Metricool AI assistant drafts and adapts captions using a monthly credit allowance per brand: 5 on Free, 20 on Starter and 35 on Advanced. Metricool also offers an MCP connector, on every plan including Free, that links your account to AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT. Treat AI captions as drafts and edit them in your own voice; for other options, browse our AI tools for social media.

Which Social Networks Does Metricool Support?

Metricool supports 11 social networks: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, X, Twitch, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Pinterest and LinkedIn. It also reports on Google, Facebook and TikTok Ads.

Two networks come with conditions. LinkedIn and X are not available on the free plan; LinkedIn is included from Starter, and X needs a paid add-on at $10 a month per connected account, or $120 a year, according to Metricool's help center on October 16, 2026. Each brand connects one account per network, so two Instagram accounts mean two brands.

Older articles may be out of date. Some third-party guides still describe a separate LinkedIn charge. Metricool's pricing page on October 16, 2026 lists LinkedIn as included from Starter, so check the live page before you buy.

Metricool Pricing: Free, Starter, Advanced and Custom Plans

Metricool pricing starts at $0 on the free plan, $20 a month for Starter and $53 a month for Advanced when billed yearly, and rises with the number of brands. Monthly billing costs more, and Metricool says annual billing can "save up to 24%".

Metricool's yearly billing cuts the monthly price on every paid tier.

What Counts as a Brand in Metricool?

A Metricool brand is one set of social profiles, with one account per network, such as a client's Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn together. Pricing scales by brands, not by users or channels, which is why agencies with many clients often find it cheaper than per-seat tools.

Metricool Add-Ons: X, Advanced Analytics and Hashtag Tracker

Metricool add-ons can raise the real cost, so add them up before you compare plans.

  • X (Twitter): $10 a month per connected X account, on Starter and above.
  • Advanced Analytics: from $12 a month on Starter and $36 a month on Advanced.
  • Hashtag Tracker: $25 a day per tracker.

Does Metricool Have a Free Plan or Free Trial?

Metricool has a free plan you can use "for free, forever", its pricing page says, but it lists no free trial of paid plans. The free plan covers one brand, 20 scheduled posts a month, 30 days of analytics, five competitors and every network except LinkedIn and X. Metricool replied to one Trustpilot reviewer in October 2026 that the free plan needs no payment details.

Metricool free plan vs Starter: 1 brand vs 10, 20 posts vs unlimited, 30 days vs unlimited analytics
Metricool's free plan covers one brand and 20 posts a month.

How Does Metricool Work?

Metricool works by connecting your own social accounts to a brand, then planning, publishing, replying and measuring from one dashboard. Sign-up starts on the free plan, and you upgrade only when you outgrow it.

  1. Create a free account; no card is needed for the free plan.
  2. Add a brand and connect one account per network through each platform's own login screen.
  3. Plan posts in the calendar, using the best-time suggestions and, if you like, the AI assistant.
  4. Reply to comments and messages in the inbox.
  5. Check analytics, compare competitors and, on paid plans, send PDF or PPT reports.
  6. Upgrade or add brands when you need more than 20 posts a month or LinkedIn and X.

Connecting through each network's official login means you are not handing a password to Metricool. You can remove access later from the network's own settings.

Is Metricool Legit and Safe to Use?

Metricool is legit and safe to use: a registered Madrid company runs it, it connects through official platform logins, and it follows the EU's GDPR for personal data. Its legal notice is dated January 5, 2021, while its refund policy was published on May 14, 2026.

What we could verify on October 16, 2026: the company name, tax ID and registry details in its legal notice, live prices, a dated refund policy, an active help center and claimed review profiles. What we could not verify: its user count, the brand logos it shows and how fast support answers in practice.

The legal notice is honest about limits. Metricool "does not guarantee that there will not be interruptions or errors", is liable only for direct damages, and "reserves the right to deny or withdraw access to Metricool, without the need for prior notice" if you break its terms.

Can Metricool Get Your Account Banned?

Metricool is unlikely to get your account banned, because scheduling through approved connections is normal, allowed platform use. One Reddit reply from about three years ago says a Facebook account was shut down while the user scheduled with Metricool; other replies doubted the link, and we could not verify it. Ordinary platform rules on spam, copyright and community standards still apply to anything you post.

What Do Metricool Reviews on G2, Capterra and Trustpilot Say?

Metricool reviews are mostly positive across public platforms, with complaints focused on billing and posting glitches. On October 16, 2026 it showed 4.5 out of 5 from 101 reviews on G2, 4.4 out of 5 from 98 reviews on Capterra, and a 4.0 TrustScore from 680 reviews on Trustpilot, where 81% were five-star and 13% one-star.

Recent praise mentions quick support, smooth scheduling and painless refunds within the window. Recent complaints mention posts that did not publish, renewal charges and slow help with billing or cancellation; one October 2026 reviewer also said marketing emails kept coming after unsubscribing.

Metricool user ratings: G2 4.5 from 101 reviews, Capterra 4.4 from 98, Trustpilot 4.0 from 680 reviews
Metricool's public ratings run from 4.0 on Trustpilot to 4.5 on G2.

Is Metricool Easy to Use? Strengths and Glitches

Metricool is easy to use for most people, scoring 4.5 out of 5 for ease of use on Capterra, though some users describe dated design and occasional posting glitches. Testing your own workflow on the free plan is the best check.

Capterra reviewers praise an organized interface for scheduling, analytics and reporting, while some call parts of it "less intuitive". On Reddit, one user says it "sometimes has issues posting to TikTok and Facebook", another found the create feature awkward for cross-posting to Instagram and TikTok, and a four-year-old thread asks whether scheduled Reels lose trending audio. Those reports are individual and some are years old.

Is Metricool Good for Analytics and Engagement Tracking?

Metricool is good for analytics, and it is the main reason users pick it over Buffer or Meta Business Suite, as the Reddit thread above shows. Its reports show reach, engagement and follower growth by post and by network. To sanity-check its numbers, compare them with our Instagram engagement rate calculator or our TikTok engagement rate calculator, since tools define engagement rate in slightly different ways.

Metricool Billing, Cancellation and Refund Policy

Metricool's refund policy allows a refund within 15 calendar days of your first paid purchase, but not for automatic renewals, unused time or plan changes. You can cancel any time and keep the plan until the billing cycle ends.

PolicyWhat Metricool saysWatch out for
Cancellation"You can cancel your plan at any time"; the plan runs to the end of the billing cycle, then becomes Free."you won't receive a refund for unused time".
WithdrawalRefund "during the first 15 calendar days" after your first paid purchase, asked by chat or email."does not apply to automatic renewals", monthly or annual.
Annual plansCovered by the same 15-day window."After the 15-day withdrawal period, annual cycles do not allow partial refunds."
Plan changesUpgrades credit the unused part of the old plan."Refunds do not apply when changing plans".
Refund speedPayPal refunds are immediate; cards take 5 to 10 business days.App-store purchases follow the store's rules.

The policy is clear but strict, and it explains the Reddit user who was refused a refund "more than 15d" after paying for a year. To request one in time, check your first invoice date under Plan & Billing, cancel the subscription, then message support by live chat or email saying you want to exercise your right of withdrawal.

Metricool refund policy: 15 days to withdraw after first purchase, no refunds on renewals or unused time
Metricool refunds first purchases within 15 days, never renewals.

Metricool Customer Support

Metricool customer support runs on live chat, email and a help center, with courses through its Metrischool, but no phone line, stated hours or promised reply time.

The contact page says its team is "ready to help you right now" through chat. Public reviews split on how well that works: recent Trustpilot reviews praise "quick support", while others describe support as "almost non-existent" after a Facebook connection problem, and Capterra users say billing and refund questions move slowly. Use chat for quick issues and email for anything about money, so you keep a written record.

Metricool Pros and Cons

Metricool's pros and cons come down to strong analytics, a free-forever plan and low brand-based prices, against paid add-ons, no paid-plan trial and a strict 15-day refund rule. This Metricool review weighs each point against its own pricing page and refund policy, so you can judge the fit for your team.

Pros

  • Free-forever plan, no card needed
  • Starter from $20 a month billed yearly
  • Unlimited analytics history on paid plans
  • 11 networks plus three ad platforms
  • Up to 100 competitors tracked
  • Priced by brand, not by user
  • Cancel any time in settings

Cons

  • X costs $10 a month per account
  • No LinkedIn or X on the free plan
  • No free trial of paid plans
  • Refunds only within 15 days, first purchase
  • Team seats and approvals only on Advanced
  • Some reports of posts failing to publish
  • No phone support or stated hours

What Are Metricool's Biggest Advantages?

Metricool's biggest advantage is analytics depth for the price: unlimited history, competitor tracking and ad reporting from $20 a month billed yearly.

  • Free-forever plan: one brand, 20 posts a month and 30 days of analytics with no card.
  • Brand-based pricing: five brands on Starter cost the same whether one person or three use them.
  • Wide coverage: 11 networks plus Google, Meta and TikTok Ads in one place.
  • Reports: PDF and PPT exports that send themselves monthly from Starter up.

What Are the Main Metricool Drawbacks?

Metricool's main drawback is billing rigidity: refunds end 15 days after your first payment, and renewals are never refunded. The rest are plan limits and add-ons.

  • X add-on: $10 a month per connected X account on top of the plan.
  • Team features: team members, roles and approvals start on Advanced at $53 a month billed yearly.
  • No paid-plan trial: you test on the free plan, which leaves out LinkedIn, X and reports.
  • Glitches: some users report failed posts and bugs, mostly on Trustpilot and Reddit.
  • Support: chat and email only, with no published hours.

Do Metricool's Pros Outweigh the Cons?

Metricool's pros outweigh the cons for most creators, small businesses and agencies that value analytics and want low, predictable prices. The cons matter more if you need many X accounts, enterprise listening or a generous refund window. Start on the free plan, check your workflow, and pay yearly only once you are sure.

  • Visual Instagram and TikTok planning: Later.
  • Agency with many accounts and white-label reports: SocialPilot, or Metricool Advanced.
  • Customer care and a premium inbox: Sprout Social or Agorapulse.

Simple Ways to Get More From the Metricool Free Plan

The Metricool free plan goes further when you plan around its limits.

  • Spend your 20 posts on your main network and post natively elsewhere.
  • Export or note key numbers monthly, because Free keeps only 30 days of analytics.
  • Use all five competitor slots on accounts your audience also follows.
  • Reply from the inbox daily, since engagement keeps reach healthy.
  • Upgrade only when a limit blocks real work, and pay yearly once you are sure.

Metricool vs Native Platform Tools

Metricool beats native tools such as Meta Business Suite when you post to several networks or report to someone, because one calendar and one report replace several apps. Native tools cost nothing and get new features first, so a single-network creator may not need Metricool at all. For more on organic growth, see the BSTB blog.

Who Should Use Metricool, and Who Should Avoid It?

Metricool suits creators, small businesses and agencies that post to several networks and want strong analytics at a low price. Large enterprises that need listening, many X accounts or long trials should compare other tools first.

  • Creators: the free plan covers one brand and 20 posts a month.
  • Small businesses: Starter covers up to five brands with reports and LinkedIn.
  • Agencies: Advanced adds team members, approvals and the API, priced by brand.
  • Enterprises: Custom adds white label and an account manager, but listening is not its focus.

Is Metricool Right for You? A Five-Question Check

Metricool is a good fit if you answer yes to most of the five questions below.

  1. Do you post to more than one network? One calendar for 11 networks is the core benefit.
  2. Do you need analytics or reports for a boss or client? This is where Metricool is strongest.
  3. Do you manage several brands? Brand pricing beats per-seat pricing as you grow.
  4. Can you test on the free plan first? There is no paid-plan trial.
  5. Will you check within 15 days that it suits you? After that, payments are not refunded.

Is Metricool Good for Creators and Small Businesses?

Metricool is good for creators and small businesses because the free plan covers basic scheduling and Starter adds unlimited posts, LinkedIn and reports from $20 a month billed yearly.

  • Solo creators: start free, and upgrade only when 20 posts a month runs out.
  • Local businesses: Google Business Profile support and inbox replies sit in one place.
  • Growing brands: track your engagement rate over time instead of follower counts alone.

Is Metricool Good for Agencies and Enterprises?

Metricool is good for agencies, since Advanced adds team members, roles, approvals, Zapier and the API from $53 a month billed yearly for 15 brands. Enterprises get white-label reports and a dedicated account manager on Custom, but teams that need social listening or customer-care workflows may prefer Sprout Social or Hootsuite.

Who Should Avoid Metricool?

Anyone who needs listening, generous refunds or many X accounts should look at other tools before paying for Metricool.

  • Heavy X users: $10 a month per X account adds up fast.
  • Teams on Starter: it has no team members; you need Advanced.
  • Buyers who want a long trial: rivals offer 14 to 30 days.
  • Enterprise listening teams: Hootsuite and Sprout Social focus on it.

Metricool Review: Final Verdict

Our Metricool review rates it Good: a legit, low-cost social media tool with a free-forever plan and analytics that outclass most rivals at its price. The main things to watch are paid add-ons and a refund window that closes 15 days after your first payment.

It does the core jobs well: scheduling to 11 networks, unlimited analytics history on paid plans, competitor tracking, ad reporting and automated reports, priced by brand from $20 a month billed yearly. Against that, X costs extra, team features start on Advanced, there is no paid-plan trial, renewals are never refunded, and some users report posts that fail to publish. Test it free, then commit. Our rating: Good.
