What is Gong?
Gong is a revenue AI platform, which it now calls a Revenue AI Operating System, for sales and other go-to-market teams. It captures customer calls, emails and meetings, transcribes and analyses them, and turns the results into deal insights, coaching cues and forecasts. Its Revenue Graph stores those interactions, and specialised AI agents automate follow-ups, pipeline checks and forecasting. Gong says more than 5,000 customers use it, including well-known names such as Anthropic, Uber for Business, ADP and Udemy.
Amit Bendov and Eilon Reshef founded Gong in 2015 in Israel, according to Globes, which reported a $250 million raise at a $7.2 billion valuation in June 2021. The product line now spans Gong Engage, Gong Forecast, Gong Enable and Gong Agents, with more than 300 integrations through the Gong Collective partner programme. In 2026 reviewers note a new usage-based credit system for AI features. Gong remained active in October 2026, and Forrester has named it a Wave leader, according to Gong.
Key Features
- Conversation intelligence: Gong records and transcribes sales calls and meetings, then analyses them in more than 70 languages, according to ZoomInfo’s August 2026 breakdown. Managers can search calls, spot risks and see how reps handle objections.
- Revenue Graph: The Revenue Graph is Gong’s data foundation, capturing calls, emails and meetings across every deal. Other Gong products and agents draw on this shared record instead of relying only on what reps type into the CRM.
- Gong Forecast: Gong Forecast predicts revenue using conversation signals as well as CRM data. Gong claims its forecasting is 20% more precise than CRM-only algorithms, as reported by ZoomInfo.
- Gong Engage: Gong Engage handles multi-channel outreach sequences, with an AI Composer that drafts emails from conversation context. Gong reports a 34% higher response rate for AI-composed emails, a vendor claim worth testing on your own pipeline.
- Gong Enable: Gong Enable turns real customer conversations into coaching and training. It includes an AI Trainer for practice simulations and initiative tracking, so enablement teams can see whether new messaging reaches calls.
- AI agents: Gong offers more than 15 AI agents for tasks such as follow-ups, deal monitoring and forecasting, which ZoomInfo says come at no extra cost. Ask Anything lets you question deals and accounts in plain language.
- Deal and account boards: Deal Boards and Account Boards show pipeline health in one view, combining activity, risks and next steps. Sales leaders use them in pipeline reviews instead of exporting CRM reports.
- Smart Trackers and dialer: Smart Trackers flag concepts such as competitor mentions or pricing objections across calls. The built-in Gong Dialer adds VoIP calling, so outbound calls are recorded and analysed automatically.
- Security and governance: Gong holds SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and ISO 42001 certifications, according to its security page. Gong states that customer data is never used to train generative models.
Pros
- Highly rated by users: Gong scores 4.7 out of 5 from 6,747 reviews on G2, while its own homepage cites 4.5 from more than 6,200 reviews. Either way, few sales tools have such a large base of positive feedback.
- Large customer base: Gong says more than 5,000 customers use it, including Anthropic, Uber for Business and ADP. Proven adoption at that scale reduces the risk of picking a platform that struggles with large sales teams.
- Strong customer results: Gong reports that Anthropic saw a 64% productivity increase and 46% shorter ramp time, and Uber for Business saved 6,700 hours. These are vendor case studies, but they show measurable outcomes.
- Wide integration network: The Gong Collective offers more than 300 integrations, including Salesforce, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack and Okta. Gong’s pricing page says you can integrate your existing tech stack for free.
- Serious security credentials: Gong lists SOC 2 Type 2, several ISO certifications including ISO 42001 for AI management, and HIPAA support. Regulated businesses can pass vendor reviews more easily than with smaller call recorders.
- Quick to implement: G2 reports an implementation time of about one month and a return on investment in about ten months. Teams can start analysing calls well before a full year’s contract has run.
Cons
- No public pricing: Gong publishes no prices and asks you to request a customised proposal by team size. Comparing it with cheaper tools therefore needs a full sales process.
- High total cost: Sybill reports per-user licences of $1,400 to $1,600 a year plus platform fees of $5,000 to $50,000 or more. A 50-person team may pay $85,000 to $130,000 in year one, according to the same May 2026 analysis.
- Rigid contracts: Reviewers report annual or multi-year commitments only, with no monthly billing. ZoomInfo notes that fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable, so a poor fit can be costly.
- Mandatory onboarding fees: Sybill reports onboarding charges from $7,500 to $65,000 depending on deployment size. These one-off costs come on top of both the per-user licences and the annual platform fee.
- Unpredictable AI credits: Tl;dv reports a new 2026 Gong Credits system that meters AI usage such as transcription, coaching and Ask Anything. It estimates $3,000 to $9,000 or more a year on top of other fees, which complicates budgeting.
- No prospect data: Gong has no native B2B contact database, buyer intent signals or website visitor identification, according to ZoomInfo. Most teams still need a separate data provider for prospecting.
Who is Using Gong?
- Sales representatives: Review calls, follow up faster and prepare for meetings.
- Sales managers: Coach reps using real call recordings and trackers.
- Revenue operations teams: Forecast pipeline and monitor deal risk.
- Enablement teams: Build training from successful customer conversations.
Pricing
Gong uses custom pricing, combining per-user licences with a platform fee set by user count, and publishes no list prices (checked October 2026).

Figures come from Sybill’s May 2026 and Tl;dv’s July 2026 analyses, which roughly agree; Tl;dv cites per-user costs of $1,200 to $3,000. Negotiated contracts vary widely, so request Gong’s proposal and ask about renewal increases and credit usage before signing.
What Makes Gong Unique?
Gong’s edge is the depth of conversation data behind every insight. Rather than relying on what reps log in the CRM, it builds a Revenue Graph from recorded calls, emails and meetings, then feeds that into forecasting, outreach, coaching and more than 15 AI agents. A partner network of over 300 integrations and a long list of ISO certifications, including ISO 42001 for AI management, add enterprise readiness that many newer call recorders lack.

Summary
Gong suits mid-sized and large sales organisations that want call recordings, coaching, forecasting and AI agents built on the same conversation data. Its main limitation is cost: licences, platform fees, onboarding and new AI credits add up quickly, and contracts are rigid. Smaller teams may get enough from a lighter call recorder. Before signing, ask Gong to model your full first-year cost, including credits, and negotiate a cap on renewal increases.
