What is Navina?
Navina is an AI copilot for primary care clinicians working in value-based care. It collects scattered patient data from the electronic health record, health information exchanges and payer claims, then turns it into a short chart summary before each visit. During the visit an ambient scribe drafts the note, and the platform suggests HCC diagnoses and open care gaps that the clinician can accept or reject. The company says it runs more than 600 AI algorithms built for primary care and reports 86% weekly active use among providers.
Navina was founded in 2018 by chief executive Ronen Lavi and chief technology officer Shay Perera and is headquartered in Ramat Gan, Israel, according to Startupim. In March 2025 it raised a $55 million Series C led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, bringing total funding to about $100 million. Its customers include Privia Health, agilon health, Millennium Physician Group and Summit Health. The platform is live in October 2026 and is sold to organisations through demos and custom contracts.
Key Features
- Pre-visit chart review: Navina condenses EHR, HIE and claims data into one patient summary that the company says takes about two minutes to review. An AAFP evaluation cited by Navina found clinicians saved 9 minutes of chart review per patient.
- Ambient scribe: Navina’s ambient scribe drafts the visit note by combining the recorded conversation with the patient’s history. That differs from scribes that only transcribe the encounter, because prior diagnoses and results can be reflected in the draft.
- HCC risk adjustment: Navina’s Risk Adjustment product suggests HCC codes at the point of care to improve RAF accuracy and audit readiness. Each suggestion links to supporting evidence, so coders and clinicians can check the source before accepting it.
- Quality and care gaps: Navina’s Quality Management module surfaces clinical evidence for open care gaps to help close HEDIS measures. Gaps appear during the visit, when the clinician can still order a test or screening.
- Audit-ready documentation: Navina auto-generates compliant notes with coding support, according to the company. The goal is documentation that holds up under payer review, which matters for organisations paid through risk contracts.
- One-click orders: Clinicians can place referrals and orders directly in the EHR from Navina’s interface. This removes a step between spotting a care gap and acting on it during the same appointment.
- Analytics dashboards: Navina’s Analytics product tracks risk adjustment and quality performance alongside usage by provider. Leaders can see which clinics are using the copilot and how coding and gap closure rates change over time.
Pros
- Independent recognition: Navina ranked first in the 2025 Best in KLAS report for clinician digital workflow. It has also won a Gold Stevie Award and a 2025 MedTech Breakthrough Award, which gives buyers third-party evidence beyond vendor claims.
- Measured time savings: An AAFP evaluation cited by Navina reports 9 minutes saved per patient on chart review and twice as complete documentation. The same study links use to a 23% fall in reported physician burnout.
- High clinician adoption: Navina reports 86% weekly active use among providers, and some organisations say over 90% of providers used it within the first week. Strong adoption matters because unused clinical software delivers no coding or quality return.
- Built for value-based care: Navina combines risk adjustment, quality gaps and documentation in one workflow rather than as separate tools. Organisations on risk contracts can tie each feature to RAF and HEDIS results.
- Security certifications: Navina states it holds SOC 2 and ISO 27001:2022 certification and is HIPAA compliant. Those credentials usually shorten security reviews for health systems and medical groups.
Cons
- No public pricing: Navina sells through custom quotes, and GetApp lists pricing only as contact the vendor. Smaller practices cannot estimate costs without a sales call, which slows early budgeting.
- Narrow EHR list: Navina lists integrations with Epic, athenahealth and Veradigm, and GetApp adds eClinicalWorks. Practices on other EHR systems may not be able to use it inside their normal workflow.
- Few public user reviews: GetApp shows no written user reviews for Navina, and it has little presence on mainstream software directories. Buyers will rely on KLAS data and reference calls rather than open peer reviews.
- Focused on US value-based care: Navina’s HCC, RAF and HEDIS features target US risk-based payment models. Fee-for-service clinics or providers outside the United States will get less value from much of the platform.
Who is Using Navina?
- Primary care physicians: Prepare visits and draft notes faster.
- Value-based care groups: Improve HCC accuracy and RAF scores.
- Quality teams: Close HEDIS care gaps during visits.
- ACOs and IPAs: Track coding and quality across clinics.
Pricing
Navina uses custom, quote-based pricing for healthcare organisations and does not publish plan prices (checked October 2026).
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Clinician Copilot | Custom quote | Chart review summaries, ambient scribe, VBC insights, documentation support, one-click orders |
| Risk Adjustment | Custom quote | Point-of-care HCC recommendations for RAF accuracy and audit readiness |
| Quality Management | Custom quote | Evidence for care gap closure and HEDIS performance |
| Analytics | Custom quote | Risk adjustment, quality and usage reporting |
Directories such as GetApp also list the price as contact the vendor, so we found no conflicting figures. Costs are likely to depend on clinician numbers, modules and EHR setup, so request a written quote that covers implementation as well as licences.
What Makes Navina Unique?
Combining pre-visit data aggregation with an ambient scribe gives Navina a different starting point from transcription-only tools. The note is drafted with the patient’s history, HIE records and claims already in view, so suggested diagnoses and care gaps are tied to evidence the clinician can inspect. That link between documentation, HCC coding and HEDIS gaps is why Navina sells mainly to value-based care groups rather than individual practices, and why KLAS ranked it first for clinician digital workflow in 2025.
Compatibilities and Integrations
- EHR systems: Epic, athenahealth and Veradigm, with eClinicalWorks listed by GetApp.
- Data sources: EHR records, health information exchange data and payer claims.
- Platforms: Cloud software that GetApp lists for web, Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.
- Compliance: SOC 2, ISO 27001:2022 and HIPAA, according to Navina.

Summary
Navina suits US primary care groups, ACOs and IPAs on value-based contracts that want faster chart prep, better notes and more accurate HCC coding in one tool. Its KLAS ranking and AAFP time savings give it solid evidence. The main limitations are quote-only pricing and a short list of supported EHRs. Before signing, confirm your EHR version is supported and ask for adoption data from a reference customer of similar size.
