Obsess AI

Obsess AI is an AI marketing app for Shopify stores that writes SEO blogs, product descriptions and collection pages from your catalogue. It also creates product photos, videos and social posts, flags search issues through Google Search Console, and offers a separate Store Designer app. Plans run from $9 to $299 a month after a 7-day free trial.

What is Obsess AI?

Obsess AI is a set of AI apps for Shopify merchants that handle search content, product imagery and storefront design without a dedicated marketing team. Its main app, SEO and Content, reads your catalogue and brand voice, then drafts SEO blog posts, product descriptions, collection pages, meta tags and social posts. It also turns existing product photos into studio and lifestyle scenes, on-model shots and short videos with AI presenters. A second app, Store Designer, takes plain-language change requests and previews new layouts on your own pages before anything goes live.

Both apps install from the Shopify App Store and bill through Shopify, so the product only works for Shopify stores. The developer is listed on Shopify as Obsess AI LLC of Frisco, Texas, and the SEO and Content app appeared on the App Store on 14 November 2025. Obsess AI says nothing publishes without your approval, every run shows its credit cost first, and fixes can be reversed. It is not the same company as Obsess, a separate platform known for building 3D virtual stores for retail brands. Obsess AI was live with a 7-day free trial and a free Store Designer tier when we checked in October 2026.

Key Features

  • SEO blog engine: Obsess AI writes SEO blog posts from your product catalogue with internal links to products. It handles meta tags and structured data in the same run, and a blog refresh tool updates older posts that have lost traction.
  • Product descriptions and collection pages: Obsess AI generates product descriptions, collection pages, landing pages and home page copy in your brand voice. The Starter plan’s credits cover roughly 50 product descriptions a month, according to the pricing page.
  • Keyword intelligence via Search Console: Obsess AI connects read-only to Google Search Console and maps keywords to your pages. It ranks opportunities by clicks at stake, and this feature starts on the $99 Professional plan.
  • Issue detection and one-click fixes: Obsess AI flags problems such as two pages competing for the same search and offers reversible fixes, including redirects. Plain-English diagnosis reports explain why a page is not being found in search.
  • Product photography and video: Obsess AI turns your existing product photos into catalogue-ready studio shots, lifestyle scenes and on-model images. It also makes short product videos with AI presenters, plus a UGC studio and virtual try-on.
  • Social autopilot: Obsess AI schedules posts and reels for Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest, sized for each network. Autopilot only publishes after you switch it on, and it is included from the Professional plan upwards.
  • Store Designer app: Obsess AI’s Store Designer edits your storefront from plain-language requests and previews changes on your own pages first. It adds designs as app blocks, checks phone and desktop layouts, and offers one-press undo.
  • Approval and credit controls: Obsess AI shows the credit cost of each run before it starts and publishes nothing without approval. That keeps spending predictable and stops unreviewed AI copy from reaching your live store.

Pros

  • Low entry price: Obsess AI’s Starter plan costs $9 a month with 250 credits, which is cheap for a combined SEO and content tool. Small Shopify stores can test it properly on the 7-day trial with 100 credits and no card.
  • Built natively for Shopify: Obsess AI installs from the Shopify App Store, bills through Shopify and publishes straight to products, blogs and collections. There is no copying and pasting between a separate writing tool and your store admin.
  • Search data drives the content: Obsess AI uses your Google Search Console data to prioritise keywords by clicks at stake. That links new content to measurable search demand rather than guesswork, which generic AI writers do not do.
  • Content and visuals in one place: Obsess AI covers blogs, product copy, product photography, video and social posts within one credit pool. Merchants without a content team can replace several single-purpose apps with one subscription.
  • Merchant stays in control: Obsess AI requires approval before publishing and lets you reverse fixes such as redirects. G2’s listing highlights these controls, which lower the risk of an automated change damaging rankings.

Cons

  • Shopify only: Obsess AI works only with Shopify stores and cannot be used on WooCommerce, BigCommerce or a standalone blog. Merchants on other platforms will need a different SEO content tool.
  • Very few user reviews: Obsess AI had a 3.7 rating from just four Shopify App Store reviews and two reviews on G2 when we checked. That small sample makes it hard to judge long-term reliability or support quality.
  • Key features need higher plans: Obsess AI keeps keyword intelligence, the AI assistant and social autopilot for the $99 Professional plan and above. Starter and Growth users get the content tools but not the search data that guides them.
  • Credits do not roll over: Obsess AI resets credits every month, so unused allowance is lost. Video and collection pages use credits quickly, with the $39 Growth plan covering only about 12 product videos a month.
  • Outputs still need checking: Obsess AI’s generated visuals can miss small product details, according to a G2 user discussion. You should review images and copy before approval, especially for products where accuracy matters.
  • Young product with gaps: Obsess AI launched its SEO and Content app in November 2025, and Enterprise API access is still listed as coming soon. Expect features and pricing to change as the product matures.

Who is Using Obsess AI?

  • Small Shopify merchants: Producing blogs and product copy without hiring writers.
  • Direct-to-consumer brands: Creating lifestyle images and short product videos from existing photos.
  • Stores with large catalogues: Writing descriptions and collection pages in bulk.
  • Shopify Plus teams: Using Search Console data to find and fix ranking issues.

Pricing

Capterra lists the same four SEO and Content prices, and both apps are billed separately through Shopify. Credit costs and plan limits can shift on a young product like this, so confirm the current figures in the Shopify App Store before upgrading.

What Makes Obsess AI Unique?

Search Console data and Shopify publishing in one loop is what separates Obsess AI from general AI writers. It finds the keywords that are costing you clicks, drafts the blog, collection page or product copy to target them, and then publishes inside Shopify after your approval. Adding product photography, presenter videos and a storefront designer to the same account is unusual for a $9 starting price.

Compatibilities and Integrations

  • Platform: Shopify only, installed from the Shopify App Store and billed through Shopify.
  • Search data: Read-only Google Search Console connection, with Ahrefs and DataForSEO listed on Shopify.
  • Social channels: Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest posts and reels through social autopilot.
  • Languages: The Shopify listing names 11 interface languages, including Spanish, French, German and Japanese.

Summary

Obsess AI suits small and mid-sized Shopify stores that need steady SEO content, product imagery and social posts but lack a marketing team. Its main limitation is maturity, with very few public reviews and the most useful search features kept for the $99 plan. We think it is worth trialling for catalogue-heavy stores that already have Search Console data. Connect Search Console during the free trial and spend the 100 credits on your highest-traffic collection pages first.
