What is Amie?
Amie is a Berlin-built AI note taker and calendar app that records meetings on your own device, then writes summaries, action items and follow-up drafts. No assistant joins the call, which is its main selling point.
The desktop app captures system audio and your microphone, separates speakers and remembers their names. You can type private notes to steer the summary, pause for off-the-record moments, and let recording stop by itself once the microphone falls silent. An AI chat then uses your calendar, email and transcripts to draft replies, move events or prepare you for the next meeting.
Dennis Müller founded the company in 2020, and it raised $7 million led by Spark Capital in 2022. Amie started as a combined calendar and to-do list, and its homepage now presents it as a replacement for Google Calendar, Things 3 and Motion with meeting notes at the front. The homepage and pricing page loaded normally in our October 2026 review.
Key Features
Bot-free capture is the headline feature, and it shares one app with summaries, an AI chat and a calendar that holds your tasks.
- Bot-free recording: Amie records system audio and your microphone locally, so no assistant joins Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Slack Huddles, Whereby or Webex calls. You can pause for off-the-record moments, and long sessions in one room are split automatically.
- Summaries and transcripts: After each call the app writes a summary with action items and a speaker-labelled transcript. Speaker labels work in 17 languages, and plain transcription covers more than 80 further languages.
- Private notes: You can type your own notes during a meeting to steer what the summary stresses. This helps when you want the AI to focus on one decision, a price or a specific client request.
- AI chat: An assistant linked to Google Calendar and Gmail drafts follow-up emails in your writing style and creates or moves events. It can also prepare meeting briefs and turn transcript points into Linear tickets in one request.
- Calendar and to-dos: Tasks and events share one timeline, with time-blocking and AI scheduling that places tasks on your day. To-dos can come from Notion or Todoist, and paid plans add a menu-bar calendar and a Pomodoro timer.
- Shareable pages: Notes can be grouped by recurring event, by company domain or by hand into shared pages. Colleagues and customers then see the history of past meetings, and Business adds your own branding to shared notes.
Pros
Discretion is why many people pick Amie: calls are recorded without a visible bot, so clients never see an extra participant appear.
- No visible bot: Nobody in the call sees a recording assistant join. Sales calls and interviews feel more natural, though you should still tell participants you are recording wherever law or courtesy requires it.
- Design quality: Reviewers at efficient.app praise the clean pastel interface, and a user quoted on the homepage likes its notch-style overlay. People who enjoy carefully made Mac software tend to find it pleasant for daily use.
- One workspace: Notes, tasks, email and calendar sit in the same app. That removes much of the copying between a note taker, a to-do app and a calendar that busy founders do after every call.
- Wide language support: Speaker-labelled transcripts cover 17 languages, and plain transcripts reach more than 80 other languages. International teams can record calls in several languages without switching tools.
- Useful exports: Action items flow to HubSpot, Pipedrive, Attio, Notion, Slack and Linear. Sales and product teams avoid retyping call outcomes into the systems they already use.
Cons
Price is the sharpest drawback, because Amie has no free plan and reported prices start at about $20 a month once the seven-day trial ends.
- No free tier: Access ends when the seven-day trial finishes unless you subscribe. Light users who record only a few calls a month may get better value from note takers with a free allowance.
- No Android app: Amie offers macOS, Windows and iPhone apps but nothing for Android. Teams with mixed phones need a second tool for mobile notes or must rely on desktop recording.
- Hidden prices: The official pricing page confirms two plans and a 20% yearly discount but showed no dollar figures in our check. Buyers must rely on review sites, which disagree on which tier includes bot-free recording.
- Lighter scheduling: Reviewers find its auto-scheduling less capable than Motion’s. If AI time-blocking is your main need, a dedicated planner may serve you better than this note-first app.
- Shifting focus: Amie began as a calendar and to-do app and now leads with meeting notes. Some long-time calendar users feel planning was sidelined, and one review calls it barebones for team project work.
Who is Using Amie?
Founders and sales staff who sit through back-to-back calls form the core audience, based on homepage testimonials and independent reviews.
- Founders: Startup founders who run many calls a week capture decisions without a bot. Summaries then become follow-up emails drafted in their own style.
- Sales teams: Reps record discovery calls and push action items into HubSpot, Pipedrive or Attio. A go-to-market lead quoted on the homepage says his output would halve without it.
- Consultants: Advisers group notes by client domain into shared pages. Clients can then review earlier meetings without asking for a recap.
- Individual Mac users: Students and solo workers who like polished software use it for personal tasks and planning. Reviewers say it suits individuals better than large teams.
Pricing
Amie charges about $20 a month for Pro on yearly billing after a seven-day free trial (official plan page and 2026 reviews, October 2026).

| Business | About $40 a month yearly or $50 monthly | Adds bot-free recording, AI scheduling, chat with notes, custom templates, branding and CRM or ATS integrations |
A July 2026 pricing guide instead places bot-free recording and AI chat in Pro and lists audit logs and end-to-end encryption under Business, while older listings quote $6 to $30 plans or a free tier.

What Makes Amie Unique?
On-device recording joined to a full calendar is the real differentiator: Amie captures a call without a bot, then files the notes next to your schedule and tasks. Most note takers stop at the summary, while most AI planners do not record calls at all.
The chat layer ties those pieces together. Because it can see your calendar, inbox and transcripts at once, a single request can draft a follow-up email, book the next meeting and open a Linear ticket, which is the workflow Amie is built around.

Summary
Amie suits founders, sales teams and consultants who want meeting notes, tasks and a calendar in one well-designed app. Its bot-free recording keeps calls discreet, and exports to common CRMs save retyping. The main drawback is cost, with no free plan and published reviews disagreeing on which tier holds key features. Android users are also left out. Use the trial week on real client calls, and confirm at checkout which plan includes bot-free recording before you pay.
