What is Clearword?
Clearword was an AI meeting assistant that joined online calls and turned them into transcripts, summaries and action items while the meeting was still running. It has since closed, and its website now shows only a farewell page.
The product worked as a bot that entered Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams calls. As people spoke, it built live notes, flagged decisions and tasks, and afterwards drafted follow-up emails and CRM updates. Past meetings sat in a searchable library that teams could edit, share and organise across separate workspaces.
The company was founded in Cork, Ireland, in 2021, and an ACCA interview names David Coallier, Clodagh Monks and Daire Irwin as founders. It reportedly raised about $3.2 million and in 2023 announced an assistant called Bloom. In October 2026 the homepage was titled “Goodbye and Farewell”, with no product pages, sign-up or published closure date.
Key Features
Clearword’s most distinctive features were live notes and automatic action items, because both appeared during the call rather than in an email hours later.
- Live notes: Clearword wrote summary notes in real time as the conversation moved on. Participants could glance at the running notes mid-call to check that a decision had been captured correctly.
- Action items: The assistant picked out tasks, owners and decisions from what people said. These lists then fed follow-up emails and project tools, so fewer agreed actions were lost after the meeting.
- Transcription: Every call was transcribed, and G2’s listing quotes a 95% accuracy claim from the company. SaaSworthy reported 300 transcription minutes a month on the free plan and 3,000 on Pro.
- Meeting library: Past meetings were stored in a central library with search, editing and sharing. Pro users could also upload earlier recordings and download audio, according to directory plan descriptions.
- Follow-up drafting: Clearword generated follow-up emails and CRM updates from the meeting content. Meeting templates on the paid plan let teams shape notes for recurring calls such as client check-ins.
- Bloom assistant: Bloom was a later add-on announced in 2023 that aimed to carry out tasks agreed in a meeting. The company described it as updating records and drafting messages without anyone copying details by hand.
Pros
Clearword’s main strength was producing usable notes and actions during the meeting, which cut the admin that usually follows client calls.
- Real-time output: Notes and actions appeared while the call was running, not after processing. Account managers could confirm owners and deadlines out loud before everyone left the call, which cut later email chains.
- Useful integrations: Links to HubSpot, Jira, Notion, Google Docs and Gmail reduced manual copying. Sales and delivery teams gained most, since their records updated from the same meeting.
- Generous free tier: Directories reported a free plan with about 10 meetings and 300 transcription minutes a month. That allowance let individuals test the tool properly before paying.
- Agency focus: G2 described Clearword as built for agency meetings, with multiple workspaces for different clients. Agencies juggling many accounts could keep each client’s notes, actions and recordings apart without mixing them up.
- Simple set-up: The bot joined calls from a browser-based service, with no special hardware required. Slashdot’s listing shows no operating system requirements beyond web access, so most teams could start within minutes.
Cons
Clearword has shut down, so none of its features, plans or integrations can be used today.
- Service closed: The website shows only a farewell page, and sign-up is gone. Anyone still searching for Clearword today needs to choose an active meeting assistant with similar live notes instead.
- Tiny review base: G2 shows a single review, and Slashdot lists no ratings at all. That makes it hard to judge how well the tool performed for real teams.
- No public API: SaaSworthy lists API support as unavailable, limiting custom workflows. Teams with unusual or in-house tools had to rely on the built-in integrations alone or copy notes across manually.
- Limited training: Slashdot reports online support only, without documentation, webinars or live training. New users had little structured guidance beyond the product itself, which slowed roll-out across larger teams.
- Data questions: We found no public notice explaining what happened to stored recordings and transcripts. Former users should contact the founders or check old exports to confirm their data was removed.
Who is Using Clearword?
Nobody can use Clearword now, but it was built mainly for digital agencies and client-facing sales teams.
- Digital agencies: Agency staff ran frequent client calls across many accounts. They used workspaces and live notes to keep each client’s decisions organised.
- Sales teams: Reps logged calls into HubSpot or Salesforce. Automatic CRM updates saved them from typing up notes after every prospect meeting.
- Product teams: Product and engineering groups held planning and review calls. They pushed agreed actions straight into Jira or Notion.
- Remote workers: Distributed staff needed a reliable record of calls they missed. The searchable library let them catch up without asking colleagues.
Pricing
Clearword is discontinued, so no plan can be bought, and these prices are historical directory figures (checked October 2026).
| Plan | Price | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Closed; reported 10 meetings and 300 transcription minutes a month |
| Pro | $27 a month billed yearly, or $30 monthly, reported | Closed; reported unlimited meetings and 3,000 minutes |
| Enterprise | Custom quote, reported | Closed; reported org-wide set-up and dedicated support |
Some directories quote Pro at $27 and others at $30, and SaaSworthy explains the gap as yearly versus monthly billing.
Disclaimer: Treat these figures as a record of past pricing only, since no Clearword subscription can be bought.
What Makes Clearword Unique?
Clearword worked inside the meeting instead of after it, building notes and actions as people talked. You could read and correct the summary before the call ended, rather than waiting for a recording to be processed.
Bloom pushed that idea further by trying to complete agreed tasks, such as CRM updates, rather than only listing them. Combined with multiple workspaces for agency clients, this gave Clearword a narrow but clear niche before it closed.
Compatibilities and Integrations
Clearword connected to the three main video platforms and to a handful of CRM and work tools, all of which stopped working at closure.
- Meeting apps: Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, which Slashdot lists as its only meeting platforms.
- CRM: HubSpot sync appears on G2, and Salesforce links were reported by other directories.
- Work tools: Jira, Notion, Google Docs and Gmail for sharing notes and actions.
- Platforms: Web-based according to Slashdot and SaaSworthy, although one directory listed iOS and Windows apps.
Clearword Tutorials
Because Clearword has closed, the useful steps now cover moving your meeting workflow to an active replacement.
- Search your email and drives for any exported Clearword notes or recordings.
- List the integrations and templates your team relied on.
- Trial an alternative such as Fathom, Fireflies.ai, Otter.ai or Sembly AI.
- Connect your calendar and meeting apps to the new tool.
- Recreate summary templates and CRM rules, then test them on an internal call.
- Review the new tool’s data retention settings before recording client meetings.
How We Rated It
Clearword lands at 3.2 because useful live notes and integrations are outweighed by the fact that the service no longer runs.
| Criterion | Score | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Accuracy and Reliability | 2.5/5 | Service no longer runs |
| Ease of Use | 3.8/5 | Simple bot-based set-up |
| Functionality and Features | 3.9/5 | Live notes, actions, CRM sync |
| Performance and Speed | 3.7/5 | Real-time notes reported |
| Customization and Flexibility | 3.3/5 | Limited public detail |
| Data Privacy and Security | 2.8/5 | No public closure data notice |
| Support and Resources | 2.0/5 | No longer available |
| Cost-Efficiency | 3.0/5 | Free tier, now closed |
| Integration Capabilities | 4.0/5 | CRM, Jira, Notion, Gmail |
| Overall Score | 3.2/5 | Average of the nine criteria |
Summary
Clearword was a sensible choice for agencies and sales teams that wanted meeting notes and follow-ups handled during the call. Its live notes, action items and CRM links covered the basics well for a small product. The deciding limitation is that the service has closed and cannot be used. Former users should check whether any meeting data remains with the company. When choosing a replacement, test its CRM sync on a real client call before moving your whole team.
