What is PlanTrips?
PlanTrips was a free AI travel planner that produced a custom itinerary in about two minutes. Its original tool is no longer online. In October 2026 plantrips.net shows an unfinished placeholder site with no planner. The Dang.ai directory marked the product inactive in January 2026.
It worked from a short form. You entered a destination, trip length and budget, and the AI returned a plan with activities, food, accommodation ideas and money-saving tips. A community section let you browse itineraries made by other travellers.

PlanTrips’ main advantages, while it was online, were that directories listed it as free, it returned a draft itinerary within minutes and it showed community trips to copy from.

- Fast: Returned a usable draft in about two minutes, as recorded by two directories.
- Community ideas: Showed itineraries from other users, so you could borrow from a trip someone had already planned.

Cons
PlanTrips’ main drawback is that it is offline: in October 2026 plantrips.net shows only a default WordPress placeholder, and Dang.ai marked the tool inactive in January 2026.
- Offline: The original planner cannot be used. Its address serves a default WordPress install with a single “Hello world!” post dated 29 June 2026 and no planning tool.
- Uncertain future: The placeholder carries a new tagline about kid-friendly trips, which suggests a different project. Who runs the address now is unknown.
- No follow-up questions: Could not be asked to refine a plan, a gap raised in a Product Hunt review of the original tool.
- Name confusion: Plantrip at plantrip.io is a separate, live product, and at least one directory links this listing to it by mistake.
Who is Using PlanTrips?

One review site lists a $9.99 monthly Pro plan for PlanTrips. We found no evidence that it existed. Aikithub labels the tool Freemium and links to Plantrip, which is a different service.
